SOMA: Somatics & Embodied Anatomy50hrs Training Winter '27
A 50 hour training for yoga teachers, movement facilitators and body-nerds curious to journey into the structures beneath the skin.
In this training, we explore somatic teaching and anatomy – not only from a theoretical point of view, but as something we can sense in the body and connect to in our practice.
We will dive through the layers of the body’s inner landscape to discover both the different systems and explore the felt qualities that live beneath the surface in our body-mind.
SOMA refers to body and ‘somatics’ to the living experience of being, here and now. Through a somatic approach, we bring awareness to the felt sense of the body and create space for intuitive movement and asanas/postures to rise from within. In a world that often emphasizes on performance and perfection, somatic movement invites us to listen and connect to the inherent wisdom of the body. In this approach, anatomy becomes something we experience and EMBODY.

Structure of a course day
Each day in the training begins with a short introduction to the day’s anatomical focus, followed by a longer practice integrating meditation, somatization, intuitive movement and asanas to awaken the felt sense first. After practice we gather in a circle to share our experience and give language to our felt sense, which is an essential foundation for somatic cuing and teaching. In the afternoons we dive deeper into the theoretical aspect of anatomy, supported by images, videos and supplementary exercises to connect to the different layers and systems of the body. Throughout the training, we will also explore the use of music, curation of asanas and practice teaching in smaller groups using somatic language.
